engitec: EV Fleet Charging Management for Public Charging

With Swisscharge, engitec centrally manages the charging infrastructure for its electric vehicle (EV) fleet through a single platform. Field employees benefit from a personal charging card and the Swisscharge app to easily find charging stations, plan charging stops, and charge on the go. At the same time, fleet administrators can efficiently manage users, support, and onboarding and offboarding from one central system.

Background

engitec AG is increasingly relying on electric mobility for its field sales staff and project managers, who travel between 20,000 and 30,000 kilometers each year. Although a large portion of charging takes place at the company site, employees regularly depend on public charging infrastructure. This created the need for a centralized and efficient solution for charging fleet electric vehicles while on the road.

« Our employees conveniently plan their charging stops in the app – we manage everything centrally on one platform. With Swisscharge, we found a solution that works reliably in everyday use for everyone.

Goals

The goal of the project was to provide all employees with an electric vehicle a personal charging card and an individual app access. At the same time, the management of all users, charging cards, and charging sessions was to be handled centrally. Especially important: simple route and charging planning, transparent billing, straightforward onboarding of new employees, and efficient onboarding and offboarding. In addition, monitoring functions and reliable support were intended to support daily use.

Outcome

Engitec was able to successfully implement the Swisscharge fleet solution within one month. All authorized employees now have their own Swisscharge charging card and use the Swisscharge app to find charging stations, plan charging, and charge on the go. Six charging cards are already in use. Centralized user management simplifies onboarding and offboarding, reduces administrative effort, and provides transparency about the use of public charging infrastructure at all times. The result is an efficient solution for the electric fleet that can be easily scaled as needed in the future.
